FOUNDERS OF THE ABAISANZA BA RUMOGI “Abaisanza Ba Rumogi” is a sub-clan of the big clan of Abaisanza located in different parts of Bunyooro Kitara Kingdom and Uganda at large. It was started by a Mwisanza called ‘’MIKAIRI GUSAALIRRE”a.k.a.’’KISORO”. “Kisoro” means “animal”. There are different theories about the name “Kisoro”. One theory suggests that; Kisoro used to move with his mother (unknown) at her back when he was still very young. The mother had sworn that, nobody would snatch her son from her except an animal because she used to sleep in the bushes during the night while they were migrating. Another theory suggests that the boy” Gusaalire” was very fierce and black like an animal hence the nick name “Kisoro.”Kisoro was born to “MASUNGE”- his father and his maiden name was ”KISORO KYA MASUNGE” literally, Kisoro the son of Masunge. It is believed that he was born in 1840’s or early 1850’s because his first born child”Bisoodo Eryeza” was born in 1876.
