FOUNDERS OF THE ABAISANZA BA RUMOGI
Mr Kisoro the founder of baisanza Ba Rumogi
“Abaisanza Ba Rumogi” is a sub-clan of the big clan of Abaisanza located in different parts of Bunyooro Kitara Kingdom and Uganda at large. It was started by a Mwisanza called ‘’MIKAIRI GUSAALIRRE”a.k.a.’’KISORO”. “Kisoro” means “animal”. There are different theories about the name “Kisoro”. One theory suggests that; Kisoro used to move with his mother (unknown) at her back when he was still very young. The mother had sworn that, nobody would snatch her son from her except an animal because she used to sleep in the bushes during the night while they were migrating. Another theory suggests that the boy” Gusaalire” was very fierce and black like an animal hence the nick name “Kisoro.”Kisoro was born to “MASUNGE”- his father and his maiden name was ”KISORO KYA MASUNGE” literally, Kisoro the son of Masunge. It is believed that he was born in 1840’s or early 1850’s because his first born child”Bisoodo Eryeza” was born in 1876.
ORIGIN
KisoroMikairiGusaalire is believed to have migrated from Kasese-Mutoorooro-Ngulinguli, the now Katungulu as abusiness man in the early 1870’s. He settled at Mabaale (now Muhorro-Mwenge). He finally got married to”Kahita” a Munyamwenge lady at Kyongera-Mukunyu. She (Kahita) bore him a son “BisoodoEryeza” in 1876. “Bisoodo” means chicken excreta. All the first children Kahita had with Kisoro died. He thought that this child would also die hence the name “Bisoodo.” It is also believed that “Kisoro” migrated from Kasese with his brother, “Janualiyo”. Janualiyo went and settled at Nyansorro-Buyaga. He got married to Kanyange. They produced four sons i.e. Kabyanga, Mulisi, Kasoro and Musasa.
Kisoro was taken to "Omuruyanja rw’omukama” (King’s palace) as a “Muhurra” or “Omurusuura” which means soldier in the late 1880’s. He lived or stayed in the palace at “Mparo” now the Hoima city along Masindi road. He had left his wife ”Kahita” with one son “Bisoodo” at Kyongera-Mukunyu during the time he was at the King’s palace as a soldier. He stayed there until 1894 when King Kabalega was deposed to Seycelles Island. So, the soldiers in the palace had to scamper for their dear lives. Each one left the palace and migrated to other places. Kisoro could not go back to “ Kyongera-Mukunyu” where he had left his wife “Kahita” and a son “Bisoodo.” He went and settled at”Kaguli” a kilometer away from Kikuube Trading Centre just adjacent to the now Kikuube Health Centre iv.
Kisoro stayed at Kaguli as a businessman as well as an agriculturalist. He constructed the biggest granary in the whole of Bunyooro. He introduced soap making in the whole of Bunyooro. He made a soap factory at Kaguli. He introduced a market at kaguli. It was the first market in the whole of Bunyooro.He traded in salt,cattle ,millet and other products .He employed many people .He would travel to kibiro,katwe,kigaaya and vice versa.He had a business partner “Gurru” from kiziranfumbi village, the new Kikuube central police station headquarters.People would travel from Tooro(Fort portal) to kaguli.There were no vehicles by then. People would just travel on foot with merchandise on their heads.It was through the businessmen from Tooro whom(Kisoro) traded with,he sent to bring him his wife(kahita) and his son “Bisoodo”.Kisoro re-united with his wife “Kahita” and they started a new life before moving to wabyoma-Rumogi.
In the early 1900’s, he migrated to Wabyoma -Rumogi where he found the “Basiita” clan members whose children included ,Binyomo, Yezefati Tibarwita, Festo Kaija.These were the original inhabitants (abataka). Kisoro settled there permanently .He was joined by others like ;Lazaaro Kihika, Bitwa Omubiri. These came from Bundibugyo.They were believed to be Bakonjo or Bamba.They were invited by the Gombolola Chief called Stanley Tigambirwa.
OCCUPATION OF KISORO
As it has been already highlighted above,other duties or activities done by Kisoro were;
He introduced Christianity with the help of his son Bisoodo Eryeza between 1920-1921 in that area.
The Current clan head and the Bishop
He initiated schools e.g Kigaaya(C.O.U) school.
He reared cattle.He was the first man to rear cattle in that region (Bunyoro region).
He was a consultant in business since he still owned the biggest market in Bunyoro at Kaguli.He was a shrewd businessman. Many people travelled from distant places to come and consult him.He was an epitome of business.
Apart from doing business, he was also a very good political leader in the Bunyoro region.
Kisoro’s son Bisoodo, started a church at Wabyoma the present piece of land occupied by the current local council 1 chairperson-Amosi Kalibara whose father “Mparra Aloni” was husband to Kisoro’s daughter “GajegeJojina”. Kisoro offered that piece of land to his son-in-law (Mparra Aloni).At a later time, people came from very far and near to attend church at Wabyoma especially from Kigaaya where “Kisoro” had introduced Christianity before his son Bisoodo establishing achurch at Wabyoma. “Mude” a missionary from Kigaaya where Kisoro had introduced Christianity,gave burseries to Kisoro’schildren.These were “Kakubebe Stanley”, “Nyabwaana Isaleri”, and much later, Kaitairima Erinesiti was also taken by Europeans since he was a very good goal-keeper.

KISORO’S FAMILY
In 1902, Kahita produced the second child who died immediately.
In 1904, Kisoro and Kahita produced another boy named Birigenda Erifaazi.Birigenda means “This one will also go or die”.
Kisoro married another lady called “Kabaruuli” who bore him ason called “Bisirikiki Erasto” in 1907.
In 1910, Kahita bore “Kisiro” another boy called Kakubebe Stanley.
Kabaruuli bore Kisoro another girl-Gajege Jojina in 1910.
Kisoro was married to six women,three of whom didn’t bear him any child.These were; Kahita, Kabaruuli, Byengozi, Bihogo, Zebiya and another unknown lady.

Kahunguki Stephen (Former clan head and son to Kakubebe Stanley) kicked the ball and it disappeared into the sky as stated by his father “Kakubebe”
Kisoro was very innovative, inspirational and a role model(Yalinyolya) which means “newt” in English.
Kisoro’s nicknames were “Bikakara”, “Omuyagwa” because he was dark black in colour and very intelligent.
Kisoro’s first grand child (Eseeri Kahwerire) was born in 1919 to Bisoodo Eryeza and Kabusomba(wife to Bisoodo).

MUGURUSI DAVID AMOOTI
The biography of Mugurusi Banura David Amooti -current clan head
He was born on 22nd September 1966 to the late Saphan Bahulirwa and Mrs.Janet Bahulirwa. He was the third born boy child in this family .The 1st born was(Mugisa Fred-1962 to 1994) and 2nd born (Bagonza Joshua-1964 to 1989) and he(Banura) is now currently the eldest child of this family.
He started school late at Sir Tito Winyi primary school in 1974 due to the long distance he had to travel.He joined Kabalega secondary school in 1983 to 1986 for “o-level” .He stayed at home digging due to lack of tuition fee in 1987 .He joined Duhaga Secondary school for “A”-Level in 1988. He later joined Makerere University Business school(MUBS) formely (N.C.B.S) in 1990.
Graduated in 1993 in “UDHIC”.Persued different courses at different Universities. He worked at Botanical Beach Hotel as a manager in 1994, Grand Imperial Hotel- Manager in 1995-1996, Calendar Guest House as a general manager in 1996-1998.He also worked at M.P.A.C-Lecturer. Then as principal of the college in 1998-2005. Worked as Training Consultant -Mwaana high school way hotel in 1999-2001.
Currently, he is a proprietor at Hope Educational Centre -Kampala and Kawempe high school-Kampala.
He is a born again at victory living word church -KirokoleKawempe.He is married to Miss.Ainembabazi Abigeal Akiiki and they have got children and these include;Katusiime Ruth Precious,Mbabazi Jane Recheal, Balisima Samuel, Wamaani Solomon. He also have siblings like; Miss.Kabanyoro R, Mr.Tindyebwa B, Mr.Mpairwe Gemaliya, Mr.Musinguzi.K.Apollo,Kajoina Pamela, Kabagenyi Esther,Kyomuhendo Penninah and many others.
BIOGRAPHY OF MUGURUSI KAKUBEBE STANLEY ABWOOLI
Kakubebe was born in 1910 to Kisoro and Kahita as fourth born child.Second born child of his mother had died in 1902.He studied up to primary four.He married and wedded Esther Banaaki in 1937.Kakubebe bore twelve children with Banaaki,one of whom(Nsongo) died in 1948 while still very young. Kakubebe again married “Buletwenda Edisa” in 1960 to take on the marriage mantle after the mysterious death of his first wife (Esther Banaaki) while she was giving birth to twins (Kato and Nyangoma) in 1958. Banaaki left behind two newly born twins and nine other ones.
Kakubebe and Buletwenda produced other eight children together.He was the first man to build a mabaati(iron sheets) house in the whole of Buhaguzi county, the now Kikuube district in 1948.The house still exists. He was the first man to own a radio in the whole of Bunyooro.People would travel from distant places to his home to listen to news and announcements.He started the now- Sir Tito Winyi Primary school at Kiziranfumbi- the now Kikuube town council.
He started a church at Kiziranfumbi, the now St.Paul’sC.O.U..It is now a parish being headed by Rev.Canon Kirya Sheemu Abwooli.He (Kakubebe) was the first preacher in that church.He loved his children very much and he is now remembered for having said that, his first born child “Kahunguki Stephen, the former clan head” kicked the ball and it disappeared into the sky. Up to now,people in Kikuube still wonder if the ball is still in the sky.
